Shanna has been singing and playing in and around the Bay Area since she was twelve, starting with playing for her church and later moving on through weddings, private parties, big bands, small combos, concerts, jazz festivals, recordings, musicals and radio and TV appearances.
"She has an appealing and clear voice, a strong sense of swing and at times sounds like a mix of Rosemary Clooney and Ernestine Anderson, straddling the boundary between jazz and middle-of-the-road cabaret music."
Josie Canion, who also likes being called "Jo", has been a pioneer in the jazz world since the early 1950s. She comes from a musical family and discovered early that singing came naturally to her. She toured the West Coast in the late 1950s and 1960s with "The Preludes" a jazz vocal quartet that included her brother, pianist and singer, the late Rudy Tenio. She was encouraged by her other brother and jazz musician Jimmie Tenio to pursue a career in music. Her performance credits include vocalizing with Flip Nunez, George Duke, Smith Dobson, and Eddie Duran. She performed at various venues in San Francisco including the Fairmont Hotel, Quiet Storm, and Pier 39. Mrs. Canion was a featured artist at the Stockton Waterfront Jazz Festival.
Kim Nejak has been playing piano professional for more than twenty years in such places as Napa, San Diego, and Carmel. She has enjoyed traveling in Europe, playing to support her adventures and is currently performing as a regular at Wine & Roses and Casablanca's in Lodi, CA. Kim plays everything from lounge and parties to corporate and social events. She enjoys playing the classic softer side of Hoagy Carmichael, Gershwin, and other greats. Her diversified style explores classical, jazz, and a pop repertoire of Beatles, Elton John, George Winston, and many more.
